The company, led by CEO Patrick Leahy, is building a commercially available submersible capable of viewing the wreckage 12,000 feet below the Atlantic Ocean. In 2023, a submersible from Washington state-based company OceanGate embarked on a journey to view the Titanic, but was found to be imploding. The disaster resulted in the deaths of five people, including OceanGate co-founder Stockton Rush.
